I volunteered as a poll watcher in New Jack City for Mr. Giuliani. Mr. Giuliani thinks he is a Republican.
Mr. Giuliani made a name for himself as a District Attorney prosecuting people in my organisation. He was convicting bad guys. He was the good guy. Everyday, he looks in the mirror and tells himself, he is a good guy. He likes the way he looks, and really likes the way he sounds.
I apply the proverb 'Be as strict with yourself as you are with your friends.' Mr. Giulani and I are not friends. He is an attorney. As an attorney, his actions reflect on me and my maternal grandfather, a Boston attorney who, briefly, was a District Attorney in Honolulu, where my mother was born.
My paternal grandfather was a devout Republican. Given the opportunity to meet the people who today call themselves Republicans, what would my grandfather call them?
