I enjoy a bit of a walkabout. I've been trying to visit places for almost half a century. If the political will is not there, my way is blocked. Hence, I have tried to travel where they let me.
My ancestry includes Jewish, Japanese, Korean, Scottish. My birthplace in South Asia makes me South Asian. I call this, the frugal storm. I have never seen a penny that I couldn't pinch to watch the bills slip through my fingers. My frugality knows no bounds, and I don't anticipate that changing anytime soon. What to do?
Start a travel company tailored to my needs. This travel company would be a subscription service. For example, there is only one airline which is named in William Shatner's introduction to his trek. This airline offers a GoWild ticket. Imagine an Aposhtels. If you want something more upmarket, that might be added later.
People are not heavy. Cargo is heavy. Transportation costs for inanimate cargo uses more fuel. I'm a minimalist. Less baggage is more life.
Airlines charge for baggage. How do I reduce baggage? Arriving at my destination, I could go to Goodwill and buy clothing, and donate the clothing when I leave the destination. Not only do I have frugality issues, I have nesting issues which cause me to hoarde until I see a good use for an item. Donating it back, washed, would solve that problem. Much of my visit would be occupied finding suitable clothing, which I liked, bonded with, and then had to leave. Not if Aposhtels offers a guests's closet. You could borrow clothes, which you would return after laundering.
